I watched ‘The other Boleyn Girl ‘ recently. One word for it: wonderful. Anyone who is old enough to watch, should watch (it’s not for kids, by far).
I learn (in part, from imdb) that it is indeed based on history, albeit a distorted version of it, but as cinema it is extremely intense, and right up there. It turns out to be about some very strong human emotions: ambition and pride, malice and struggle for power, the wishes of a king and how that will bestow riches against a personal sense of right and wrong. Emotional conflict is the theme here, and this film rises right where it matters.
I will stick my neck out and say Natalie Portman will win some awards for this one.
